In order to protect your personal data and your privacy, SQM and its affiliated companies have drawn up the following Privacy Policy, which applies to all users of our corporate website (www.sqm.com) and related sites who have no direct relationship with SQM, as is the case with workers, employees, investors, suppliers or others who may have proper privacy policies or who may access the website under different conditions.

General description of SQM's Privacy Policy

SQM and its affiliated companies are committed to respecting your privacy. In general, you can visit sqm.com (and related sites) without revealing any information about yourself. SQM, its affiliated companies and its suppliers of analytics services do collect information about visitors to our website, such as their domain name, the number of visits and the average time spent, in order to measure its use and to improve the content of our sites. We analyze this data to identify trends and statistics with the intent to help us provide you with the best possible service.

In case you contact us to make a complaint or request, we redirect your demand to the relevant area, which makes it possible for us to contact you directly by means of the media you have entered in the form, or we simply redirect it to the department in charge with the request to solve the matter without necessarily contacting you.

As a corporate rule, SQM and its affiliated companies do not sell nor provide to third parties the personal or corporate data of those who have registered on the website.

Consent

Using the SQM website or the websites of SQM affiliated companies implies full acceptance of all the terms and conditions stated in this Privacy Policy. Therefore, you, the User, acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to all those terms and conditions.

Regarding information submitted by children under fourteen years of age, it is unconditionally understood that the child has obtained prior approval from his or her parent(s), guardian or legal representative, allowing SQM to process his or her personal data. SQM assumes that from the moment a child under fourteen years of age accesses the portal, he or she does so with the consent of his or her parent(s), guardian or legal representative. Each time SQM requests personal data from him or her, a hyperlink linked to this Privacy Policy shall be included in order to inform him or her of his or her rights and obligations regarding the protection of personal data.

Scope of application

The structure of files, databases, and, ICT equipment and systems

In order to comply with the laws in force, the terms of this Privacy Policy apply to all files or databases owned by SQM and affiliated companies which contain personal data, as well as to any ICT equipment or system that treats them, either owned by SQM, affiliated companies or any third party that uses them on its behalf.

SQM staff and data processing

The terms set out in this Privacy Policy, and in particular the duty of confidentiality, must be strictly observed by all personnel contracted by SQM and affiliated companies, and, by all third parties who, under the terms of their contract, have access to personal data and ICT equipment and systems of SQM and affiliated companies.

Modification to the Privacy Policy

SQM and affiliated companies reserve the right to modify the content of the Privacy Policy with the intent to comply with new legal and jurisprudential guidelines, as well as with those that might derive from existing codes, should the case arise, or as a result of strategic corporate decisions.

Should SQM or its affiliated companies use your personal data in a different way than stipulated in the Privacy Policy being in effect when your data are available, we shall make every effort to contact you through the e-mail address you have provided us. On the other hand, if you have not granted us permission to contact you, we shall not be able to inform you about our intention to use your personal data for different purposes, thereby releasing SQM of all its responsibilities.

Collection and processing of personal data
